Tiffany Gorman Thompson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. In 2003, Tiffany received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, as well as certificates in the areas of International Law and Practice and Health Law. While at Loyola, she was a member of the Mediation Competition Team, where she received Outstanding Mediator awards two years in a row, and placed second in the national mediation competition. She was also a member of the Client Counseling Competition team, a Law Related Education Volunteer at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, and a recipient of the Loyola Leadership and Service Award.
While attending Loyola, Tiffany also worked at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago and the Office of the Dean. She was involved in numerous organizations, including the Health Law Society, Public Interest Law Society, Women’s Law Society, and served as Vice President of the International Law Society. She was on the editorial board of the Forum of International Law and helped to plan a conference on the expansion of the European Union, which brought in prominent speakers from around the world. Tiffany also participated in several international study programs through Loyola, including the Rome Program, the European Institutions Program (Oxford University, Strasbourg, Luxembourg, and Brussels), and the London Advocacy Program.
Tiffany’s practice areas include real estate (residential and commercial), corporate law, governmental law and estate planning. Tiffany has represented various municipal entities, in all areas of the law, including governance, real estate, land use and development, annexation, zoning, prosecution of traffic and local ordinance violations, and finance. She has also represented various intergovernmental agencies, such as the Lincolnway Public Safety Communications Center, community colleges, special districts, financial institutions and private employers. Tiffany regularly advises clients on commercial and residential real estate transactions, including leasing, licensing, construction, and financing. She also advises clients on matters such as formation, management, transfer, and dissolution of corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, asset protection and estate planning, and estate administration.
From 2007 to 2013, Tiffany was appointed by the Will County State’s Attorney as the Ombudsman for the South Suburban Airport. She acted as an independent intermediary between the property owners affected by the South Suburban Airport and the Illinois Department of Transportation, and worked to facilitate communication between the parties and ensure that property owners were aware of their rights.
Throughout her legal career, Tiffany has served on numerous boards and been involved in countless civic activities throughout her legal career. She is a past President of the Joliet Area Young Professionals, is an appointed as a Member of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council and an active member of both the Three Rivers Association of Realtors legal committee and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association (IRELA).
Tiffany will focus her practice in Real Estate (residential and commercial), Estate Planning and Administration, Corporate Law and Governmental Law.
Tiffany Thompson is a native of Manteno, Illinois, and currently resides in Mokena with her husband, Neal and her daughters, Olivia and Grace.
