Board Member’s Husband Replaced

EDWARDSVILLE – Several appointments were approved Wednesday by the Madison County Board with one receiving some controversy. Wilbert Glasper, the husband of Madison County Board Member Gussie Glasper, D-Madison, was replaced by Yolanda Crochrell, of Edwardsville, on the Madison County Housing Authority Board. Glasper’s term expires Aug. 31.

Redevelopment of Taft Homes in Peoria

RAD transitions public housing to Section 8 housing. Per HUD rules, units move to Section 8 under a long-term contract that must be renewed. Residents continue to pay 30 percent of their income for housing. HUD said converting public housing units to Section 8 allows agencies to leverage private capital to make building improvements.
